This drive-in had its name changed after a fairly short time.  The first name was three letters longer than the second name.  The second name was spelled-out in neon and flashing bulbs at the top of the screen. Both names are required to win.

Remember, there are sometimes clues in our DRIVE-IN EXPERIENCE PHOTO GALLERY, hidden either in the photos or the captions, or both.

At least one BONUS CLUE, not posted online, will be posted in our BONUS CLUE box in the Starlite snack-bar starting Friday, June 23.  (It is entirely possible to win this contest, especially with the help of the Internet, without the BONUS CLUE, but most likely easier if you have it.)

If you don't wish to make an entry right now but want to be notified of clue updates and additions, type "PLEASE NOTIFY OF CLUE UPDATES" in the entry form.  Then be sure to check the box for clue updates below the entry form.

CLUE UPDATE:  JUNE 30, 2006   To give you an idea of this theatre's timeline, during its early years, many drive-ins were built along Route 66.  (Much of that old road ended near Albuquerque.)  But this one was not in New Mexico.  It was north of there.

In addition to this new clue, a fairly substantial new BONUS CLUE, not on our website, has been posted in our snack-bar as of June 30, 2006.

Prize $500.00 CASH
Answer We had several correct entries identifying this as initially being the MOTORENA, with a name change to the NORTH Drive-In in Westminster (a suburb of Denver), CO. The earliest entry, and therefore the winner, was Chris Mease of Wichita. TRIVIA: The Wichita Starlite's owner worked at this drive-in as a teenager in the early 1960's, wanting to someday own a drive-in.
